The Colebrook Downtown Development Association of Colebrook ,NH will host
its 4th Annual “Clean Up Day” on Main Street and surrounding areas
on May 2nd from 9 AM to Noon.
(Rain date May 9th)
This volunteer based event promotes the sprucing up of the main entrances in and out of town within a two-mile radius. Some of the organizations and businesses participating are the Colebrook Country Club, Camp Ecker, Colebrook Grange, local Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, Colebrook Academy students, Key Clubbers and Brook Chevrolet to name a few. Our town road crews as well as state road crews will also be taking part in the sweeping and preparations as well as providing rubbish pick up.
The areas for clean up that will be addressed are municipal areas, schools, Main Street, and along the highways. The project was started by Calib Skossen, a boy scout who wanted to earn his “Eagle Badge” and needed to come up with a community project. We partnered with Calib and have continued this worthy project ever since. Beginning at the Williams building on Main Street at 9:00 a.m., volunteers are given garbage bags and vests provided by the State. There are additional volunteers to take the “road crews” to their clean-up location and everyone returns to the Williams Building around noon, where a light lunch is provided. For more information on how you can participate, please call the CDDA’s office at 237-5011 and leave a message so we may contact you with all the details.
