For 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13 Classification


I. The enrollment of the following schools has been doubled:

 

Christian Brothers  High  School

Girls’  Preparatory  School

Harpeth  Hall

Hutchison

Immaculate  Conception

McCallie

Memphis  University  School

Montgomery  Bell   Academy

St.  Agnes

St.  Cecilia

            St.  Mary’s


II. The following schools will not be used in determining the classification for sports:

 

Tennessee  School  for  the  Blind – participates in wrestling only

Bachman Academy – participates as a cooperative program only

Big  Picture   High  School – participates as a cooperative program only

Hollis  F.  Price   Middle  College   High  School – participates as a cooperative program only

Memphis  Jewish  Academy – participates as a cooperative program only

Nashville  Community  High  School – participates as a cooperative program only

Nashville  Middle  CollegeHigh  School – participates as a cooperative program only

Nashville  School  for  the  Arts – participates as a cooperative program only

The  Phoenix  School  for  Creative  Learners – participates as a cooperative program only

            Doris  Walker   Academy –  participates as a cooperative program only


III. In the following schools, projected enrollments for 2009-10 have been used since they will be opening in the fall of 2009:

 

East  Brainerd High  School

South  Gibson County  High  School

West  Creek  High  School


The timeline for the classification process is as follows:

 

  1. October 10 at Noon (CST) – Deadline for moving to DII
  2. October 13 – Enrollments of all non-public schools in DI multiplied by 1.8;

      DI schools split into 3 classifications; DII schools split into 2 classifications.

  1. October 20 at Noon (CST) – Deadline for any school to move up in classification in DI or D II
  2. October 22 – All schools listed in classifications in DI and DII; DI subdivided into football divisions in each classification.  Schools have until Monday, October 27 to move up in divisions within each classification.
  3. October 29 – All schools set in classifications in DI (3 classes) and DII (2 classes)
  4. November 12 & 13 – Board of Control meeting.  All schools will be placed in districts and regions in all sports on November 13.  All items on the agenda will be done on November 12.  The Board of Control meeting will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  The meetings will begin at 1:00 p.m. (CST) on November 12 and at 9:00 a.m. (CST) on November 13.  All meetings of the Board are open to anyone desiring to attend.
