IV. Assignment #1: Scavenger Hunt
A scavenger hunt is a game in which individuals or teams seek to find a number of specific items, or perform tasks, as given in a list. The goal is either to complete the list first, or to complete the list in the most creative manner. The individual who finishes first will win a prize, as will the student who is the most creative. Hmmm, I wonder what that will look like. So here's the list:
- Fill out the Student Information Form
- Register for the Ning social network
- Introduce yourself to the class in the discussion forum on the social network
- Watch the Orientation video and write down the 3 keywords given in the video.
- Visit Zoho Notebook and register for an account. Don't forget to verify your email address after you register.
- Create a page in your New Book by adding text to the blank page. Write the 3 keywords from the Orientation video on your first page in the notebook. Then spruce it up a bit by adding whatever you want to the page. Be creative.
- Rename your New Book to your first name and then share it with Dr. Cooper. Make sure you share as "read/write." Use the email address: dr.coop@freshmancomp.com to share your notebook.
- Visit MyCompLab Online and take the MyCompLab Diagnostic 1.
You must register for MyCompLab BEFORE you can take the diagnostic test. Click the MyCompLab link to get registered. You should have gotten a registration code in your textbook (The Brief Penguin Handbook). If you do not have a textbook yet, you can buy one online for a lot less.
