e) what is the best way to prevent your computer programs from getting a virus by installing a good anti-virus system as it will help prevent your computer from getting a virus
f) Can you see one problem with anti-virus programs? a problem is that people do not update their anti-virus system therefore it goes out of date and does not work.
3a) What is a computer virus? it is a virus which is underdected into a computer, once inside your computer it will destroy data and corrupt data.
bi) A computer user who uses an Internet site that has been infected with a virus the virus will infect the computer which was on this website
ii) A computer user who downloads a game from the Internet without a virus checker. the computer will not if there is a virus in the file it will just do what it is told to do therefore a virus could enter the computer.
iii) A user who opens an unidentified email with a file attachment. if the file attached is a virus it will spread all around the computer causing a lot of damage.
iv) A computer user who receives an electronic mail message containing a virus and passes the message on to other users by electronic mail. whoever this person sent this mail to will also recieve the virus
c) Define these terms:
i ) Trojan Horse - Computer program hidden in another computer program with the purpose of destroying software or collecting information about the use of the computer.
ii) Logic Bomb - is a computer program that lies dormant for a period of time in a systems and is triggered by an event, such as a date.
iii) Boot Sector Virus - Affects the section of a floppy or hard disk that contains operating system and file information. Each time you start your PC with an infected floppy in the drive, the virus can spread.
