The Design

Zoho Projects has been designed in such a way that an organization can effectively manage any number of projects it undertakes, handling various user groups for each project and also communication flow between different parties like company, project team members and the clients.


The aim of Zoho Projects is to manage these projects and resources effectively from a single interface, offer transparency to different parties to the project and diligent use of resources available.Under this application, you can easily define the following:

General settings
You can select the skin or the look and feel of the application, change login/password

Company settings
You can change the name, timezone & logo of your company

People View
Add, delete or edit any user name or his profile

Client View
Add, delete, or edit any client users

The UI permits different user categories to use the application easily. It is divided into various modules or tabs and they have been well integrated to permit easy work flow. From each of these tabs, there are options to create other new items of other modules so that it facilitates better usability.

The modules are:

DashboardThis tab gives you the highlights of the entire project. It shows the tasks planned for the week ahead, latest documents uploaded, latest forum posts and recent project activities.
Tasks & MilestonesThis tab manages the milestones and tasks with options to create, edit and delete milestones and tasks.
CalendarThis tab shows the calendar for a project, showing the schedules of milestones, meetings and tasks.
MeetingsYou can schedule meetings and intimate the participants by sending notifications and reminders.
DocumentYou can upload documents relevant to the project here, this can be referred by all the users. You can also see versions of documents that are updated by users.
TimesheetThis tab is useful for recording the log time of users for various activities assigned to them. This helps billing decisions to a large extent.
ReportsThese are basically charts in pictorial and list views showing activities plotted against time line.
UsersThis is the main tab as it offers provision to add users, delete or edit users and update their profiles in a project.This is privileged according to the user role.
Forums This helps interaction and discussion amongst the various user groups in a project. New forum posts can be added, edite or deleted here. Also comments to posts, attachments to posts, attachments to comments are some useful provisions.
